Runda introduces radio and TV monitoring of music in Serbia!

The regional association of independent publishers Runda and the Spanish company BMAT have signed a cooperation agreement on the basis of which they will start monitoring the broadcasting of music on radio and TV stations

The regional association of independent publishers Runda and the Spanish company BMAT have signed a cooperation agreement on the basis of which they will start monitoring the broadcasting of music on radio and TV stations. The cooperation started on October 1, and the first stage included 120 TV and radio stations in Serbia, with the idea of increasing this number to include other countries in the region, especially those where such a service is not yet available. In this way, all those interested will be able to follow and control in real time what, when and how much which media broadcast from music. This is an important step in establishing the music market and market transparency, but also in exercising rights and collectively protecting copyright.

All interested publishers, authors and interpreters, who are not members of Runda and want to access this information, can contact us so that you can follow the monitoring.

BMAT is a music innovation company with a mission to index all music usage and ownership data. They help all different companies in the music industry better their data operations – including broadcast media music monitoring, and thus helps rights holders in controlling the broadcasting, but also in exercising their rights and increasing revenue.

'Cooperation with BMAT is a concrete step forward in achieving several goals for which Runda was founded, and that is, above all, providing quality and concrete solutions to our members (and not only them) who will be able to improve their business, as well as revenues from it , and creating conditions for a stronger, more organized and transparent music market. By launching airplay monitoring on the territory of Serbia, what has been available to colleagues from Croatia for some time will now be available to publishers, performers and authors from Serbia, and everyone from the region whose recordings are broadcast on radio and TV stations in Serbia. And not only as a tool for control, but also, among other things, an invaluable tool for even better promotion and placement of songs and releases, 'says Dario Draštata, president of Runda.

‘We are very proud of this collaboration as the service will change the music industry in the region. We have been working on this for a long time and looking for a partner who will be able to provide greater transparency in copyright and how it is distributed. The first step, and perhaps the key to all of this, is to have information about what is being broadcast and how much, and to have data that is relevant and verifiable. BMAT offers us exactly that and much more than that ', states Nikola Jovanović, vice president of Runda.
